Refusing post-truth with Butler and Honig

This article argues that although post-truth is understood to pose a particular misogynistic threat feminism, we cannot assume feminists should simply oppose post-truth. The way the debate constructed problematic for feminism in three ways: it misconceives relationship between democracy and truth; utilizes questionable binary reason emotion; propagates elitist assumptions about protecting from people. Recognizing insufficiency of our understanding post-truth, have called greater roles language, affect truth debate. In response, I suggest theories Judith Butler Bonnie Honig can help. However, seek emphasise if are intervene meaningfully inequalities intensified affective flows structure paradigm they would benefit deintensifying, confrontational but nonaggressive, approach.
